Electro-hydraulic shock waves induce changes in diseased tissue due to mechanical stimuli in the area to be treated.
Not only do they stimulate cell metabolism, they also promote improved blood flow to the area receiving therapy.
In the case of calcifying and non-calcifying tendopathies (illnesses of the tendon insertion), acoustic shock waves
cause the calcium deposits to be reabsorbed and also promote the revitalization of degenerative tissue areas.
Nowadays extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is most widely used in orthopaedics. The ActiVitor¹ Ortho is an instrument
that has been specially developed for treating soft tissue disorders close to bones. Thanks to its flexible treatment heads,
it is already extremely well prepared for future applications. Different therapeutic heads, variably adapted to the particular
treatment needs, can be connected to the instrument without the need to exchange the power unit.

- Calcified shoulder (impingement syndrome - tendinosis calcarea)
- Heel spur (plantar fasciitis)
- Non unions (Pseuarthroses) and delayed unions
- Painful heel syndrome (achillodynia)
- Patella tip syndrome
- Tennis elbow (epiconylitis humeri radialis/ulnaris)
